Brittney's Bio
Ms. Heavern brings over seven years of experience providing professional, attentive support to clients. She is committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment and takes pride in assisting individuals with care, empathy, and professionalism.
With more than four years of experience working in various types of law, Ms. Heavern has found meaningful purpose in supporting clients as they navigate complex legal matters. Ms. Heavern holds an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego Mesa College.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her two children, painting, and watching musicals together. These interests help her maintain a thoughtful, patient, and compassionate approach in both her personal life and her role at Tovella Dowling PC.
My purpose is driven by a commitment to be of service to others and to contribute to a world that is more just, equitable, and compassionate. As a mother, that commitment is deeply personal. I am not only thinking about the world I want to live in today, but the world my children will grow up in tomorrow.
Motherhood has given my work a greater sense of responsibility and purpose. It has made me more conscious of the systems, opportunities, and communities that shape a child’s future. I want my children to grow up in a world where people look beyond themselves, where communities come together to support one another, and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
That is why serving nonprofits is so meaningful to me. Nonprofits are often at the forefront of addressing the issues that directly impact families and communities—expanding opportunity, advancing justice, supporting vulnerable populations, and creating pathways for people to build better lives. Contributing to that work allows me to turn my values into action and help strengthen the communities my children are a part of.
My children are also a constant reminder that lasting change requires looking beyond the present moment.
The work we do today influences the opportunities, institutions, and communities that future generations will inherit. I want my children to see through my example that being successful is not only about what we achieve for ourselves, but also about what we do for others.
Ultimately, my purpose is to leave a positive impact that extends beyond my own lifetime. I want to be able to tell my children that I used my skills, my voice, and my time to serve others and help create a better world—and, most importantly, I want them to grow up knowing that they have the responsibility and the ability to do the same.
