Photography has always been one of my favorite creative outlets because it reminds me that perspective changes everything. The same landscape, person, or moment can tell an entirely different story depending on where you choose to stand, what you choose to focus on, and whether you take the time to notice the details others might miss. For me, photography is less about capturing the perfect image and more about understanding the story behind it.
That appreciation for perspective has shaped the way I approach people throughout my life. Growing up in a close-knit family with immigrant parents, I was encouraged to stay curious about different cultures, experiences, and ways of seeing the world. I learned that every person carries a unique perspective, and that genuine understanding begins not with assumptions, but with listening.
As the first person many clients meet at Tovella Dowling, I believe every interaction starts with seeing the person before the problem. I strive to create an environment where people feel welcomed, respected, and comfortable sharing their story, recognizing that no two experiences are ever the same. Sometimes, all it takes is a willingness to look through someone else's lens to better understand what they need.
My "why" is rooted in the belief that perspective creates connection. Whether I am behind a camera or welcoming a client, I am driven by the opportunity to help people feel understood, because the strongest relationships begin when we take the time to truly see one another.
