As a self-proclaimed creature of habit, I have always found comfort in routine and have been known to be a master executor of meticulously charted plans carefully crafted to solidify predictability in both process and outcome. As I gained greater life experience, inevitably confronting both opportunity and challenge, my perspective in taking the path most frequently traveled began to shift. I started leaning in to opportunities for change and taking calculated risks in various aspects of my personal and professional life. This shift in perspective has often led to many of my greatest life accomplishments. I have learned that one’s own fear of failure is oftentimes illusory and the only obstacle to achieving greatness. Wandering into uncharted territory can be uncomfortable and extraordinarily fulfilling all at the same time, and most importantly almost always pays dividends of invaluable self-reflection, individual growth, and character building. At Tovella Dowling I am able to challenge our changemaker clients to take that leap, even if uncomfortable, to effect greater change. I contribute to their initiative by identifying their potential risks and assuming the role of charting their plan to advance their purpose so they can focus on being the most effective champion of their cause.
